If you're a regular on Marinda Leigh, you'll know that food is definitely one of our favourite topics. Food and lifestyle. So imagine how eager I was when we were approached by Menulog.com.au to partner up with them and write a review on Menulog.com.au. Menulog is No.1 for Online Takeaway so it's food and lifestyle combined! Having someone else cook for me and having it delivered to my front door is a dream come true!
In these days of technology, everything is easy now. You don't have to have cash on you, you can just chuck in your credit card details et voila! food is paid for, getting made for you and delivered to your doorstep. The lazy in me is overjoyed. I could potentially be the biggest slob for the rest of my life when it comes to food.
So, Indian being a great favourite of ours, was our number one choice! We ordered from Red Rose Indian and Pizza through Menulog. It was a super easy process with everything laid out neatly and your total price always shown at the bottom.
You get to pick your own spicyness! I love it!
I actually really like the ordering system. It's user friendly, easy to navigate and very clean. Once you've made your choices, if you have a discount code, you put it in just before you put your payment through. Then chuck in your cc details and there you go! Your order is in!
Unfortunately, it seems the system did fail us because we ordered at 4:20 (we were hungry!) but never received an SMS to confirm our order and let us know what time we would receive our food. At 4:50, I decided I had waited enough and gave Red Rose a call. They were lovely on the phone but said we would get our food at 5:20. Really? An hour to cook? Anyway, our food eventually made its way to us at 5:40. There's also no way of tracking your order so that was a bit off-putting.
But apart from that little kerfuffle, I had a good experience with Menulog. The food was good! Not the best Indian I've had in Perth but I enjoyed it. Their naan wasn't dry and had heaps of garlic on it and dipping it in the butter chicken was the best! I know people always tell me butter chicken isn't real Indian... but I love it and must have it with every Indian meal!
Two dishes, rice and naan were perfect for two girls like us. And they chucked in some free papadums (love that word! It's so cute)! I love free stuff! I probably wouldn't drive all the way to Bentley for it as my favourite Indian restaurant is down the road from me but I would definitely order in again.
