Bad Apples, Applecross - Dog friendly

It's a Monday night and most of the decent places in Perth are closed. I want to eat something good but not drive out too far in search of a half decent restaurant. Why is it that so many restaurants close on Mondays? It's a little annoying.

Bad Apples Bar in Applecross is one of those places that you can go to on a weekday night and you're wanting something other than home cooked food. They're a really laid-back, slick kinda place that is dog friendly. When it's a warm night, try to get yourself onto one of the two daybeds (made by the very talented co-owner) and relax in the alfresco area with a cocktail or glass of wine. Their outdoor seating area is perfect for the Freo Doctor to blow in and cool you down. Ah, that is the life.

We were invited to Bad Apples for dinner by Brett, a co-owner, on Tuesday night and the invitation was extended to our cute dogs, Bubu and FeiFei (he also brought his beautiful Rottweiler). Not the first time I had been there, but the first time I sat down for dinner there. I love the fact that they're dog friendly. As I've mentioned in many other posts, dog friendly places get extra points with me!

It's a really cool bar with great service and friendly smiles all round. I've always been impressed by the service at Bad Apples and I've noticed they have really good taste in hiring their male bar staff; Cute, friendly and great service.

They have a great menu that changes periodically and they stock my favourite ginger beer, Zenzero Ginger Beer. Yum! On top of that, they have really great desserts. Their current Thai pannacotta, which is one of my favourites, has a great twist on dessert with chilli and lime and they also have churros which seem to be the big thing in Perth lately. Personally, I'm not a big fan of churros but their caramel sauce is a different story. I could just lick that up! And I won't lie, I may have done just that...

It's a great place for a casual get together with your friends and family and if you have a big group, you can hire out an area for yourself. Turn out was impressive for a Tuesday night, attesting to their good service and quality food and drinks. I even spotted a few solo patrons having dinner and quite a few people came to have a chat with us about our dogs. Even the customers are super friendly.

I left Bad Apples feeling really satisfied with the night. It's in the suburbs, is relatively close to where I live and it's open 7 days a week, from 10:30 on, which means I can go at any time of the day!

Check them out on Facebook - Bad Apples Bar. They currently have a New Year's Eve event going on so don't miss out and get your tickets here!
