Day One in Shibuya

I arrived in Japan on a Saturday night and made it to my hotel without too much mishap. Arriving close to midnight meant that we were exhausted by the time we checked in and put our luggage away but we managed to drag ourselves out to the local 7-Eleven and stocked up on some Japanese goodies. By the time we finally dropped into bed, it was close to 1am but still, we made plans to wake up early to go shopping at Shibuya 109.

Onigiri - cheap, healthy and tasty! We had it for breakfast almost everyday!

Oden! So good for cold nights in Japan! The radish was my favourite, hands down.

The next day, we managed to wake up at a good time and immediately went to Shibuya. The subway exit lead us straight into Shibuya 109!

I was ready to SHOP! But, of course we had to get something to eat! It took some effort to drag me away from my shopping haven but we had to have lunch. We stopped for a bite at Excelsior Caffe across the road for a sandwich and coffee.

Caramel Latte with Salmon Baguette

The crowds in 109 on a Sunday were daunting with the throngs of people going one way or the other. That definitely put me off and I wasn't in the mood to battle for the change rooms so I ended up only having a browse.

I'll be writing a separate post on Shibuya 109 and all the fashion houses in more detail but my recommendation is for you to avoid this place on a weekend if you can help it!

Really cute Hachiko statue outside Shibuya 109 (not the real one)

Stocking up on my beloved Candy Doll at SBY in Shibuya 109.

The famous Shibuya crossing

Yes, that's right... This delicious Pork Don for only 380yen! We stopped for some dinner before heading to a salon that our friend introduced us to. It wasn't anything fancy, we just walked into a shop that looked good on the corner of a Shibuya street. You don't have to pay extortionate prices for good food!

I did some serious shopping at Murua in Marui One. It's much more spacious and doesn't have the crowds that 109 does! I received 20% off all my purchases by bringing in the Murua novelty item from the May issue of the Happie Nuts magazine. Luckily for me, I made it on the last day of the promotion!

Then we raided Forever 21 again!

Flag-J - silly me forgot to bring a pair of flats. Thank goodness I bought these flats, they were so comfortable and were my saviour during the trip

Murua haul! Love every single piece!

After a day of shopping we went to Freeve to get our hair done! I will be blogging about it separately in the next post so stay tuned! Looking back, we sure did a LOT in one day! Talk about being productive!
